Hi I’m Louise and I’m the creator of Snowsports Guru. I hail from Wales in the UK, where we don’t get enough snow to warrant any ski hills!
My introduction to snow sports began as a teenager when I went on a school ski holiday to France. In my early twenties I learned how to snowboard at an indoor snowdome in England and have been hopeless addicted ever since.
My addiction to adventures on snowcapped mountains over the last twenty years has resulted in winter seasons in Canada, Europe, Japan and the USA. I spent two years living in the Canadian Rockies during which time I worked at a ski and snowboard shop. This is where I was taught how to tune skis and snowboards, setup rental gear and learned all about ski and snowboard technology.
In 2009 I turned my passion into a career and became a snowboard instructor. For the following ten years I spent my winters teaching snowboarding in California, Italy and Japan.
Today I work as an adventure tour leader in the summer months and in the winter continue to chase the snow.
